wanderers.

He walked with me

and asked for no words

no gestures or false confessions

just companionship

a step to echo with his own

less hollow that way.

He turned and gazed at the horizon

cautious about capturing my gaze

quite frightened to trust in me

and the feelings I may present

unsure if he is wanting them

to heal his bony soul.

He stands silently

a shadow of himself

no even sure of his own definition

not sure if he is real

or a fictional character.

I walk with him in silence

he is there, and I am here

and yet we walk together

two beats waiting for a drum

a sound to begin the speaking

we walk..because we both are seeking

and are unsure if we are found

are we one together, or two apart?
