You who are no longer

You who are no longer,
my souls echo is quiet now
with no cheerful sweep
no jubilant companion
to nestle my giggle into.

You who are no longer,
my hearts deepest thinking,
is unable to leap tall buildings,
or believe in heroes,
without your hand to fly me.

You who are no longer,
no kiss to break my spell,
no stallion to sweep me into the dawn
no love to break the curse of aloneness.

You who are no longer,
your spirit gone from my hold,
I am lost, and I am cold
without your heart to warm me.
How weary a life can be,
when walking alone in winter.
