White Noise.

I see you there,
your mouth untethered,
as you hide within a seeming embrace,
random words that hide, so clever.
People stop listening,
where you appear blithely unaware,
you chatter like that magpie,
knowing they look no closer,
in fear you will open your mouth.
Hide in plain sight,
and make them certain,
that there is only air,
there between the filling.
Silence is that enemy,
where people stop and wonder,
where people just may startled see,
the true scars unhealed.

I see you there,
holding onto sunshine,
praying for end of rain,
but covering,
always covering,
that heart that bleeds if spotted.
Invite them in,
best desguise created,
chatter like a magpie,
they never question deeper,
that endless prattle talk,
that hides a heart torn and broken.
Battling bridges,
just to burn them flat.

No one ever asked you ,
not once, have they ever asked you,
what does this silence hide.
What makes you speak nothing,
that never once was sweet,
afraid of what they will see,
if you stop being noise.
White noise ,
covers more than sound.

  1. I know you are. 🙂 I said it, cause I know you will blush Paul, and honestly my friend, I love making men blush. It’s rather sexy.
