too soon…

Into the misty way we travel,
into the midnight moon.
Into the leafy lane we ramble,
gone away too soon,
too soon.

Into the leery eye of travel,
into the soul of distant drums.
Into the steps of pathways leading,
gone away too soon,
too soon.

Make this heart be still a moment,
remember this one face.
Let this be my one true journey,
the vision to embrace,
a new day is coming.

Into the starlights blinking dazzle,
into the churning sea.
Into the light of new horizons,
gone away too soon,
too soon.

Into the birdsong echo morning,
into the wind-tossed embrace.
Into the wondrous new arrival,
gone away too soon,
too soon.

Let this be the morning starting,
let this be our song.
Let this be a new beginning,
for it’s gone away too soon
too soon.

(I have used words that are common to poetry in this poem, on purpose. The idea, is not to see something new, but see it in a new way, in this poem, unlike most poems…what is most important is not the words, but the movement of the words and the way you say them. This poem is meant to be read aloud)
