Independent Bookstores

I’m seriously considering creating an independent bookstore bucket list for when I retire one day. A sort-of cross- country rampage that makes my greedy heart happy.

I can’t seem to find it but, there is a bookstore I heard about, in California, that sells copies of failed and unpublished manuscripts of amateur writers who, basically, make copies for the bookstore to sell to anyone who will buy them. Something in me wants to read these books. It just feels like a book graveyard of unseen potential.

I have this image of myself hidden away in a corner with piles of books around me, delving happily into dusty stacks of loosely bound manuscripts and sneezing every so often (Funny story, I’m actually allergic to dust that’s been left sitting for long periods of time, I get really bad hives) as I lose track of time and space. 😂
