Rootlet

If circumstances place your growth into the wrong hands, it doesn’t matter how rich your soil, how strong your seed.

Without proper care, the sun cannot find you, the rain cannot nourish you. That is why, when a plant manages to find the sun, the soil, the rain, on its own, it is to be honored. Honored for that struggle to become what it has now become..even if it seems small and less vibrant than other, luckier plants.

The secret to such, isn’t in the struggle to overcome circumstances, its that the plant came to recognize it needed more and took action to become. The wrong hands were presented but, this plant, this fearless survivor, became the right hands..and that is why, to my eye, they are just as beautiful as any other plant out there.

Some look and see the petals, the color, the stem. Me? I notice the roots.
